Gray Matter

It looks like the recruitment of running back Cyrus Gray continues. Here's the latest on Gray. There are plenty of Internet reports saying that he has contacted the Texas A&M coaches and verbally committed to the Aggies, while others are saying he is still not committed. Here are some blurbs from each side:

The word on the street is that DeSoto running back Cyrus Gray has already made his college decision.

His coach, Dave Meadows, pretty much insinuated to Rivals.com that Gray didn't have all that great of a visit to Florida this past weekend. That would narrow it down to Texas A&M and Notre Dame.

Down to those two, the Aggies make the most sense, considering how much contact A&M has had with Gray in the last few days, and with new coach Mike Sherman's emphasis on recruiting the Dallas area.

A commitment from Gray would be good for Sherman. Can you say Darren Lewis and Greg Hill?

I did trade text messages this morning with Gray, who when asked if he was about to commit replied, "I haven't yet."

We expect to talk to Cyrus later today.

And this is a quote from TAMU's Scout site:

Aggie Websider's Dallas Shipp has confirmed the latest rumors surrounding the DeSoto running back, and it's good news for Aggies.

Like sands through the hourglass, so are the days of football recruiting!
